Comprehensive Evaluation and Assessment

At our practice, every journey begins with a thorough and thoughtful evaluation.

We offer in-depth assessments for children and adolescents, which may include but not limited to:

Detailed History-Taking from Families and Caregivers

Understanding a child’s history is essential to forming an accurate picture of their emotional and developmental needs. We spend time talking with parents, caregivers, and sometimes educators to gather information on early development, family dynamics, school behavior, medical history, and any past interventions or diagnoses. This collaborative process is foundational to our approach.

2

Neurological and Medical Screening (As Needed)

When necessary, we explore neurological and medical factors that may contribute to emotional or behavioral symptoms. This could include referrals for lab work, neuroimaging, or collaboration with pediatricians and specialists to rule out or address underlying medical conditions.

3

Developmental Milestone Review

We assess whether a child has reached appropriate developmental milestones in areas such as language, motor skills, and social interaction. Delays or atypical development may provide important clues about underlying conditions or the need for further support services.

4

Assessment of Language, Cognitive, and Motor Development

Through a combination of direct observation and standardized tools, we evaluate how the child processes information, communicates, and navigates their environment physically. These domains are key to understanding how a child learns, interacts, and functions on a daily basis.

This comprehensive process helps us build a complete picture of your child’s emotional and developmental needs—so we can recommend the most effective treatment and support options moving forward.
